Consulting and development services for the introduction, expansion and maintenance of Business Geo Intelligence (BGI) for KVB Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG, Cologne, Germany
Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG (KVB) is one of the largest public transport companies in the Federal Republic of Germany. Every working day, more than 850,000 people travel around Cologne on KVB buses and streetcars. With around 380 streetcars and light rail vehicles and almost 330 buses, it offers a high-performance public transportation service on around 70 urban and regional routes.
KVB introduced the BGI Analytics Framework geomanagement tool from Fichtner IT Consulting to provide IT support for tasks relating to potential and sales analysis and improvement management. BGI Analytics initially went live as an internal WebGIS solution in the area of sales controlling and has since been developed over several expansion stages for various specialist areas. In addition, a module of the system has been implemented on the external KVB website as a bus stop information system for the numerous customers, e.g. to obtain information about the current on-site conditions at bus stops. Fichtner IT Consulting continues to support KVB to this day with operational support and expansion of the system through consulting and development services in the area of Business Geo Intelligence.
